• To fix a stinky sink, run hot water, drop in orange peels, and start the disposal. Lemon and limes work too.

• To get rid of that basement smell, cut an onion in half, place it on a plate, and leave it in the basement overnight. Once the initial onion smell goes away; you’ll wake up to fresh air!

• To polish silver, wash tarnished items, then place on aluminum foil in the bottom of a pot. Add ¼ cup of baking soda, a few teaspoons of salt and 1 quart of boiling water to cover and let sit for a few seconds.

• When grouping objects together around the house, especially identical or very similar ones, display them in odd numbers. This will help your arrangement to look spontaneous, not so planned.

• Use newspaper to wash windows and mirrors. Newspaper deposits less lint and doesn’t leave streaks.

• Stinky refrigerator? Scrub the refrigerator with an all-purpose cleaner. Clean every crack and crevice, and pay close attention to the rubber gaskets around the door. Be sure to remove all drawers and wash all surfaces. Also, check the drain pan that is below the refrigerator, if you have never cleaned yours, you may find some pretty interesting stuff growing there.
